Eagles' Employee Looses Job Because of Facebook Status About Brian Dawkins

Apparently employees for the Eagles cannot voice their opinions about the assanign decisions of the Eagles front office, if they want to keep their jobs.  Talk about feeling like you work for China, yeesh!

Dan Leone, who worked as a part time West Gate Chief, was like the rest of us here in Philly upset about Brian Dawkins going to the Denver Broncos and the Eagles not even offering a decent counter offer to keep him here.  Understandably upset he wrote "Dan is [expletive] devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver ... Dam Eagles R Retarted!!"  Apparently both the Inquirer and ESPN are reporting about this.

Kind of stinks for the 6 year employee, doesn't it?  "I apologized 20 million times. I never bad-mouthed the organization before. I made one mistake and they terminate me? And they couldn't even bring me into the office to talk to me? They had to do it over the phone? At least look me in the eye. To get done dirty like this, I can't believe it. I'm devastated."

Likely he deleted it too.  Talk about a heavy handed approach, especially to such a touchy subject. I guess the Eagles front office, marketing and PR teams just really don't get it.  They are more about control than anything else.

Mr. Leone for what it's worth, there's a lot of people who agree with your post.  It's too bad the Eagles can't stand a dissenting viewpoint from any of their employees.

Update:  To add insult to injury, MSNBC.com is reporting that Mr. Leone suffers from a disease called transverse myelitis, which causes muscle fatigue.  Nice going Eagles front office, you guys are battin' a thousand!

Bye Bye T.O. - Dallas Cowboys Release Terrell Owens

I know this doesn't take away the hurt and stung feelings Philadelphia Eagles fans are feeling about Brian Dawkins just basically being given away to the Denver Broncos, but it can make an Eagles fan smile even just for a moment.

T.O.'s gone from Dallas.  Jerry Jones has finally admitted defeat without actually saying "I was wrong Terrell Owens is a cancer in the locker room", by releasing Owens after 3 years with the team.

Now, granted, this gives us Eagles fans a little bit less of a reason to hate the Dallas Cowboys, but, I don't know what I like more - Jerry Jones being wrong, Drew "I want more money" Rosenhaus not having a clue, or Terrell Owens still not getting "it" - "it" being 3 different teams, 3 different quarterbacks only common denominator is him.

So who's up next for the drama of fake attempted suicides, blaming girlfriends, crying about quarterbacks and bitching at coaches for "secret plans"?  The Giants are in need, so are the Jets, but I just can't see Tom Coughlin putting up with T.O.  Maybe the Bucs?  I can see Jeremiah Trotter rolling his eyes at that anticipation.

I talked about the possibility of Terrell Owens being released back in January.  Apparently Drew "I Want More Money" Rosenhaus (T.O.'s agent) scoffed at this thought.  A little over a week ago Jerry-O was still denying the rumors that this release was going to happen while he spoke to reporters in Indiana at the combine.

So I guess after all this, T.O. won't be helping Wade Phillips or Jerry-O figure out what's wrong with the Dallas Cowboys.  Looks to me like those two figured it out all on their own.

Only question now is, has the rest of the NFL figured it out too, or is there one or more teams still sucker enough to take on that egomanical idiot?
