Eagles' Employee Looses Job Because of Facebook Status About Brian Dawkins

Apparently employees for the Eagles cannot voice their opinions about the assanign decisions of the Eagles front office, if they want to keep their jobs.  Talk about feeling like you work for China, yeesh!

Dan Leone, who worked as a part time West Gate Chief, was like the rest of us here in Philly upset about Brian Dawkins going to the Denver Broncos and the Eagles not even offering a decent counter offer to keep him here.  Understandably upset he wrote "Dan is [expletive] devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver ... Dam Eagles R Retarted!!"  Apparently both the Inquirer and ESPN are reporting about this.

Kind of stinks for the 6 year employee, doesn't it?  "I apologized 20 million times. I never bad-mouthed the organization before. I made one mistake and they terminate me? And they couldn't even bring me into the office to talk to me? They had to do it over the phone? At least look me in the eye. To get done dirty like this, I can't believe it. I'm devastated."

Likely he deleted it too.  Talk about a heavy handed approach, especially to such a touchy subject. I guess the Eagles front office, marketing and PR teams just really don't get it.  They are more about control than anything else.

Mr. Leone for what it's worth, there's a lot of people who agree with your post.  It's too bad the Eagles can't stand a dissenting viewpoint from any of their employees.

Update:  To add insult to injury, MSNBC.com is reporting that Mr. Leone suffers from a disease called transverse myelitis, which causes muscle fatigue.  Nice going Eagles front office, you guys are battin' a thousand!

Brian Dawkins Gone to the Broncos - Thanks Joe Banner - A Video Rant

I'm pretty damn pissed off.  I don't think I'm alone in the Philadelphia region today.  Brian Dawkins is gone to the Denver Broncos.  The Eagles, seriously have lost their heart today, cut out and sent packing by that greedy bastard Joe Banner in the front office.  So, here's my rant.

Weapon X in Orange and Blue?  Yeah, that's a possibility, as Brian Dawkins visited the Denver Broncos on an official free agency visit today.

The Eagles have the 3rd largest cap room, what's the deal here?  What's the problem with giving Dawkins a multi-year decent deal, as oppose to handing down a crappy 1 year deal to a guy who's done more bringing in the fans than anyone on the team?

Personally I'm insulted as an Eagles fan that Joe Banner and the crew in the front office can't see the value of this player.  He's a fan favorite, he's a leader, and you know what, he's a producer.  He can also help bring in the young guys to be just like him.  That's worth its weight in gold. 

Look what happened when we had the opposite - his name was Terrell Owens.

I think I'm going to start looking for some rope to string Joe Banner and company up by their toes over Lincoln Financial field.  Stop the nonsense already and sign Dawkins to what he deserves already, and stop treating us fans like garbage you just ignore!

Eagles Fans Show Their Football Knowledge

Up for some football trivia and snark?  Cold Hard Football has a really great post today about Pennsylvanians and their love of their football teams and great gridiron knowledge.

They even mention they received a letter from Erick in Coal Township, PA (go Shamokin! *former North Schuylkill gal here*) pointing out a poll for the Eagles best all time Middle Linebacker, being conducted on the Eagles' "museum" site.  Although, this Eagles Chick would love to vote for Trotter, Bill Burgey just is the ultimate of all the middle linebackers.
